FAQ Answers to Your Most Burning Questions
This is for you if you’re tired of feeling alone. Alone in suffering with anxiety, depression, mind-chatter, or limiting beliefs. You’ve checked off all the right boxes, and things still don’t seem to click into place. You feel like there’s something wrong with you, but can’t figure out what (PSST… there’s nothing wrong with you). We’ll work together to conquer your beasts. Help you to learn more about you. What makes you tick. You have great work to do in this world – but you can only go the distance if you have the right people on your team.
It’s easiest for you to think of what I do in this way. Traditionally, therapists are trained to figure out what’s wrong. Coaches are trained to help you meet your goals. On a number line, think of therapists working in the negative numbers. Coaches, on the other hand, work on the positive side of the number line. Everything to the right of 0. But, in order to lead an outstanding life, you need to conquer your beasts. We can’t discount your past, we need to use that to fuel your momentum. Ready for a metaphor? If you ignore your past, you’re running the marathon with weights tied around your ankles. Let’s work on addressing your past and fueling your future.
Our work together looks at YOU, comprehensively. All of what makes you, you.
I have a knack for seeing the good in life – seeing what’s important and meaningful. I harness that to help you find your happy. More importantly, we include my training in clinical, behavioral, and positive psychology to bring you the tools to master life. We’ll use tools from CBT, DBT, Positive Psychology, Humanistic, Compassion-Focused, and Ericksonian approaches to create change.
The work required on your journey is both a science and an art. It’s fun, believe me. But it’s also hard work. I just need you to show up to our sessions, and commit to doing the work in between.
I’m an out-of-network provider. This means I’m a fee for service practitioner and accept all forms of payment directly from you at the time of service. If you choose to go through your insurance company, you’ll be responsible for your deductible. This requires that you qualify for a mental health disorder, but that sticks with you for life. If this is a question you have, let me know and we can talk through the pros and cons together.
Remember that this is a personal development investment. Instead of a week-long yoga retreat, this is a service provided to you throughout a period of a few weeks or months to create life lasting change. Not just a motivational week-long event.
The first session is about 1.5 hrs – a little less or a little more, depending on your situation. This is about us getting to know each other more. It’s private. It gets deep. You’ll air your dirty laundry. You’ll describe your closet monsters in detail like you’ve never done before. You’ll tell me how your hero’s journey is supposed to end. And from this, we’ll tailor this experience to meet your needs. This is also a chance for you to ask me about me – questions that need to be asked in order to make sure you’re right where you’re supposed to be. Our sessions thereafter will be 45-50 minutes.
I have clients with all types of different schedules. I offer time slots in the morning, afternoon, and evenings (weekends reserved for emergency situations only). Depending on your needs, I also provide e-therapy via an encrypted video platform. There’s not a schedule crazy enough to sabotage your life worth living.
It’s an incredible honor to be asked to join in so many people’s journeys. Profound transformation takes place on our journey, and I believe it’s because of two key points: 1) I have a knack for seeing the good that many miss. 2) I honor your life and your struggle. I know for a fact that you’re the expert of you, and I’m the right professional to aid you in your process. Because of this trust – that you’ve got this – and my double combo of personal experience and professional training, we cut right through the rubbish. We get straight to the point, and take it at your pace. Just enough for you to experience growth pains, but not enough to drown you in your struggles. But most importantly, to make lasting changes.
